The Wrap reported Wednesday afternoon that Nicola Peltz and Courtney Eaton are testing for the titular role of Alaska. As we reported last week, Anya Taylor-Joy and Immy Waterhouse are also up for the part.
It looks like the search for Alaska is drawing to a close.

Some Girls Are is not smut. Some Girls Are is not trash. It’s not a problem when someone chooses not to read any of my books, whatever their reasons, but it is problematic when that choice has been taken away from those who might feel differently.
It will never cease to amaze—and at the same time appall—me how one parent takes it upon him/herself to censor what a class or school can or cannot read.

This certainly isn’t the first time Little Women has been adapted for the screen, the most recent version being Gillian Armstrong’s feature starring Winona Ryder and Christian Bale, but you’ve never seen the March sisters like this before. The logline describes Jolly’s script as “a hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation,” in which the sisters “band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia.”
This seems inspired by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, don’t you think? It’s interesting how writers continue to adapt beloved stories to reflect today’s sensibility.

I don’t understand what’s going on with that Some Girls Are thing, and I think there will always be parents that are afraid their kids will grow to have minds separate for them. Forgetting their children are individuals.
I have never read Little Women so…eh.
And, lastly, I was roaring with laughter when spoiled GoT in your post. LOL

Omg that spoiler! I totally forgot! -_- For a moment I was the obnoxious person in the internet I loathe. But, yeah. The Looking for Alaska team now has four actresses and The Wrap reported Anya Taylor-Joy is currently the frontrunner. Have you read this book? And click the link on the Some Girls Are story. It really says important stuff.

Wow, I had no idea they’re testing out actors for Looking For Alaska already. I’m only familiar with Nicola Peltz, as she was in that Avatar live-action movie. Haha! I’m really excited to see who they go with.
And that Game of Thrones app seems pretty interesting.

This is all exciting and daunting news (that Little Women sounds vastly intriguing, although I cannot picture it at all), and I was so happy to see this Unmissable Weekly post. They’re great! I haven’t followed the Alaska casting news, although I really enjoyed the book. I suppose I’ll remain mostly surprised until the trailer comes out!

Somehow I missed the Pudge announcement but there are two actors being considered for the lead and there’s one for the Colonel. It’s really coming together now! Thank you, Romi! I haven’t read The Little Women. So.
