Ten Characters who are Fellow Book Nerds

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish in which book bloggers list their top ten picks for whatever the current prompt is.

What did William Nicholson once say about reading? We read to know that we’re not alone? I do not presume to speak for the whole populace, but I’m fairly certain this rings true with a lot of readers. A quality decidedly confirmed by the fact that we form immediate connections with characters who either love reading or are writers or work at libraries or bookstores. And having said that, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a double treat on celebrating the reading life. Here are ten fellow book nerds, arranged alphabetically by their first names:

  1. Oh my God. The art made me teary. It is SO BEAUTIFUL. I especially love the ones with the black paint on the white paper, and I assume they are yours? Just has a sort of transparency that brings extra power to tge words. Ah, brilliant. You’ll have to excuse me, I can find a deep meaning in something that seems like nothing. BUT, OMG, the art you made and/or chose for Cath, Charlie, and Matilda. OOOH and the one for Quentin& Jean! AHHHHHHHH. Hm, I don’t know if I can make a decision on that because I don’t know what yoyu have read. THE ART, THOUGH, THE ART. Did you see that Epic Reads used your photography for the sneak preview? (Probably) Anyway, I’m glad you had them do that, because it’s a perfect photo. I apologize for nothing, I’m just going to scroll over these pretty photos once more.

    1. WESAUN. Thank you so much! You spoil me! Srsly. And I know that it is self-indulgent but your comment means a great deal to me! I will not excuse you, too, because it is my aim that a reader finds something more with these pieces. So hooray! 🙂 Also? I’ve specifically chosen characters from books I’ve already read. That way, I have a connection, thus, helping me create the typography art stuff. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH, Wesaun!

PS. I saw my photo of Fans on Epic Reads. They actually personally asked me and, uh, I freaked out. Haha!

      1. Self indulgent? * waves a dismissive hand* Nonsense, you deserve to be told about your own brilliance. I’m so glad that your goal was reached with me, the reader! LOVE YOUR TYPOGRAPHY! YOU’RE VERY WELCOME. I LOVE YOUR WORK.
OMGOMGOMG that’s fabulous! Glad they a) picked up on it and b) couldn’t resist using that beauty. I’m sorry, but that photo has to be one of the best pieces of book photography my eyes have ever been blessed to view, my God. If I need to be cheered up with pretty things, I just have to look at that photo. You have such a talent and sorry if I fangirl too much but just AHHHH.

    1. Thank you, Kim! As I told other readers, Hermione would’ve made my list, too! However, I explicitly did a selection of book nerds from books I’ve already read. I guess I should’ve just mentioned that in the post? 🙂

  2. Wow! We had a really similar idea! I put quotes with my picks too. And we used the same quote for Charlie! It’s nice to see him on a couple of lists today because his bookishness maybe isn’t so apparent. 🙂 My TTT

  3. Great list! Someday, I’m actually gonna get myself to read Game of Thrones (no idea when that’s gonna happen, though). Charlie, Elizabeth, Scout and Matilda were there in my list as well! 🙂 And you missed Hermione!! 😮

    1. Hahaha! A lot, and I mean A LOT, of you think I missed Hermione. I didn’t. I categorically picked characters from a pool of books I’ve already read. So even if Hermione is possibly my favorite HP character (I’ve seen and loved the films), she doesn’t qualify. So there’s that. 🙂

  4. I knew To Kill A Mockingbird would make the cut for you. 🙂

I really need to read Looking For Alaska… I loaned my copy to my niece and don’t think I’ll be getting it back anytime soon (along with others that I desperately want back *sigh*). Might have to buy another copy so I can read it soon.
