Notice how I bought new books even though I haven’t started on last week’s spoils. Hush now. I did start a new book. And, I guess, I’m lucky I don’t buy in bulks. Otherwise, I’ll have a ginormous pile sitting in the corner. But I digress!

Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver
Sometime last year, I saw a Paper Lantern Lit video featuring Lauren Oliver. And since then, I wanted to try this author. I decided Vanishing Girls will be my introduction. Side note: until I have this in my hands, I didn’t realize how chic its cover is!
Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith
I LOOOOOOOOOVE WINGER! Naturally, I’ll go for another Andrew Smith book.

Bookish and Awesome 
The cover to Lauren Oliver’s book is lush. I read her Delirium Trilogy and hated it. Hope you have better look with her than I did!
I’ve not been buying books all year since I’m getting ready to move in a few months. If anything, I should be getting rid of a lot of them, but it’s too hard.
I was lucky the other day when I was awarded a copy of Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin; a book I’ve wanted to read forever. I also mighta-kinda maybe brought myself a book called The Vanishing Witch by Karen Maitland.
No regrets.

If you want some good lols re: Delirium, you should go watch the pilot episode for the planned television series that didn’t get green-lit. I didn’t read the book but I watched the pilot. It was pretty bad. And funny. Like a bad funny.

I heard it was a shitfest. Apparently they tried to summarize the first book and then some into one episode, while also making the love interest into a awkwardly old knobshite.
Also, it stars Emma Roberts, so the bad lols are inevitable.

Yeah it was pretty bananas how they handled it. Lol Emma Roberts. She’s like the next coming of K.Stewart based on the movies and American Horror Story episodes that I’ve seen her in. (At least K.Stew’s latest films have better acting than her earlier ones.)
But, realistically, I don’t think any level of acting could have saved that pilot hoping to be sold. Either way, you should check it out when you’re feeling down or something.

I think K-Stew’s always been a good actor. People tend to forget how much a bad script and/or director can affect (effect?) a performance. A recent example would be to compare Jamie Dornan in 50 Shades to his performance in The Fall (which is an amazing TV show.)
Also, can you really expect anything good from an actor who’s first big role was in a Nickelodeon show called Unfabulous. I repeat; UNFABULOUS! I swear I saw five minutes of that show and it almost gave me a tumour.

Hey now, K. Stew was pretty good. It has more to do with Bella, I guess (and yes, let’s face it, that’s what you’re referring to). And shrinking ONE BOOK to a single pilot is bound to be horrible.

I don’t know, Levi Isaac, is it just me or you seem to be hating a lot of books? 😛
Any road, Giovanni’s Room sounds intriguing (and it’s set in Paris!!) so I hope it matches, if not exceeds, your expectation.
Also, moving books is tricky! And tiresome. But like you I wouldn’t, and didn’t, leave a single one behind.

I wouldn’t say I hate a lot of books, just that I’m honest about how I feel 🙂
Also, Paris is good, but the south of France is where the party happens (I suppose. I’ve never actually been there. Maybe soon.)

Aw, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about a Lauren Oliver book! I didn’t get the chance to read Vanishing Girls, yet, but I read all of her other YA books, and I loved them all, so much. I hope you’ll like this author! 🙂

OKAY YOU SOLD ME ON FERALS. Batman and Neil Gaiman?! ONLY 2 OF MY FAVOURITEST THINGS. *flails* I’m off to see if it’s coming out in Australia. Sheesh, you make me add all these books. LOOK WHAT YOU’RE DOING TO MY TBR. (Haha, no. But seriously.) Ohhh, I want to read Grasshopper Jungle! But obviously I’m voting for you to read Ferals next. 😉
I’mmmm…gah. I haven’t decided on my next read because I just read two dumb books in a row so I’m throwing a mini tantrum in the corner and despairing. But I’m tossing between starting Hacked (which looks cliche) and The Catalyst (which is HUGE and therefore scary). x)

Oh, Awesome-Cait, ditch both Hacked AND The Catalyst and go with Winger! You haven’t read any Andrew Smith, right? For the love I bear you and your bookish soul, I plead you to get your hands on Winger. I’m not even kidding.
AND I will report back immediately re: Ferals. (Although given my nothing-short-like-the-proverbial-turtle speed, this’ll be after a week.) I’m currently reading Half Bad, which I gather you maybe loved? That might be my imagination.

Great haul! Vanishing Girls sounds so amazing. Lauren Oliver’s writing style is just so beautiful. Sadly, I’ve seen some mixed reviews on the book though. I recently got a copy of Grasshopper Jungle too and I can’t wait to read it! I hope you enjoy everything and have a fantastic week! 🙂

I also love the cover of Vanishing Girls! I think I want to pick it up soon, and I hope it’s a good place to start Lauren Oliver. People tend to have a love-hate relationship with her.
