In which I recap what went down in the last four weeks in and outside the blog.
It’s been a month! How time flies so swiftly, I’ll never figure out. Bookish and Awesome came to reality nineteen days ago today, and it’s been a wonderful experience so far. Thank you you awesome bookish people!
I want to thank you, as well, for joining me at the recently concluded Rainbow Rowell Week. Sharing something I really care about always gives me the bliss and this warmth feeling, but it is extra special when someone responds and celebrates with me. I definitely had a blast.
Books I Read
This month saw my first foray into Holly Black territory and I couldn’t be more happy that it was The Darkest Part of the Forest. I thought it was beautifully written and a rich, raw tapestry of love and insecurity and what brothers and sisters say to one another and what they don’t. I also loved Michelle Falkoff’s debut Playlist for the Dead—the narrator, Sam, has an incredibly compelling voice. I wish I could say the same about Inked by Eric Smith but, alas, no. The premise is very intriguing, however. And, lastly, I finished Jasmine Warga’s My Heart and Other Black Holes this week (review coming up). Whoa. I’ve read exclusively new releases.

Happy book birthday to I’ll Meet You There (Henry Holt and Co.), My Heart and Other Black Holes (Balzer + Bray), The Last Time We Say Goodbye (HarperTeen), Red Queen (Orion), The Distance Between Lost and Found (HarperTeen), Breakout (Crown Books for Young Readers), A Darker Shade of Magic (Tor Books), The Sin Eater’s Daughter (Scholastic Press), and The Third Twin (Delacorte Books for Young Readers), which all found a place in the shelves this month!
Book Radar
Tomorrow is March (now, really, here). New month. New published novels. I’m looking forward to Mosquitoland (Viking Books for Young Readers), Liars, Inc. (HarperTeen), We All Looked Up (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers), and The Cemetery Boys (HarperCollins).
Around the Interwebs
- The Internet exploded with the announcement of a new Harper Lee novel set for a summer release. (This happened midnight here in the Philippines and I was getting ready to sleep and I literally freaked out.)
- Alexa of Alexa Loves Books hosted the 2015 Book Blogger Love-a-Thon and what a testament it was to how book bloggers are a wonderful bunch!
- Jessica and Amber of The Book Bratz, together with Rachel of A Perfection Called Books, did a similar thing with #BloggerAuthorLove. So much love! And love. (I shared some thoughts!)
- Jen of Pop! Goes the Reader shared a collection of bookish artworks (available online) and they’re so beautiful.
- Nolan Feeney interviewed Rainbow Rowell for Time and it was so smart and informative.
- It was revealed that the same people behind the film adaptations of The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns will be working for Paramount’s Looking for Alaska. Stoked!
- The latest Game of Thrones Season 5 poster is LOADED.

Bookish and Awesome 
Woohoo! Happy one-month-birthday! I just had my blogoversary party on Friday and dear me, it does NOT feel like two years. And GAME OF THRONES SEASON 5. I still won’t be able to decide if I’m miffed I’m losing the advantage as a book reader or just excited for more Westeros.

I’m really really really excited for Paper Towns and I just KNOW they’ll do a fab job on Looking for Alaska. Isn’t it the same writers as TFIOS?! I MEAN WHAT COULD GO WRONG?! *flails* Although I kind of hope they cast Nat Wolff in there somehow because he’s becoming the John Green Easter egg, right?! hehe.

Yes yes yes yes YES! We should do a virtual pizza party in anticipation of Paper Towns or something? And Nat! Heck yeah! He’s the ULTIMATE John Green Easter Egg. Hmm. He’s played both the best friend and lead already (or soon). So I think he can play Alaska’s bf? Srsly. He can do a cameo and I’d still be delighted!

I wonder if it was smart of me to not watch the GoT S05 trailer or not…but now I’m just stewing, waiting for it. Ugh. At least I’m glad I have House of Cards to tide me over (sort of, I’m halfway done the new season) with the slowdown and/or release of season finales (i.e. Suits/HTGAWM) early in March. But at least it’s also one month close to Orphan Black.
tl;dr — you have more shows to consider watching if you haven’t seen any of what I mentioned LOL.

I’m bad with TV series! Omg. I want to watch OUAT, HTGAWM and the recently concluded P&R, actually. But I’m so terrible with this. Any road, GO WATCH THE TRAILER!
